It all started with a strong passion for foreign languages, including English, Spanish, and German, and their impact on my native language, Portuguese. Recognizing the significance of making foreign content accessible in my country has always been a priority for me. Moreover, my fascination with Brazilian culture and literature has driven me to study Portuguese and has ignited my interest in Linguistics. This has enabled me to bridge the gap between my native language and the content I consume. Pursuing this passion has also provided me with the opportunity to confidently collaborate with the Public Sector, working alongside a WHO Collaboration Centre to enhance communication among its global members.
Studying Economics and Accounting, I became fascinated by how discourse and media influence these fields. Linguistics offers various intersections as it is through communication interactions that we negotiate meaning.
Working in Finance, I was constantly engaging with clients by offering a wide range of financial advice. I adeptly adjusted my communication style to effectively convey complex information in a manner that was easily understood by each individual. However, I missed exploring the world of languages and explore their dynamic interactions with various other subjects. In 2019, I resumed my translation career by enrolling in formal education for English Translation and Translation Studies. This decision marked the beginning of my journey as an independent Professional Translator, establishing my own business.
Through my extensive experience, I observed a growing client demand for tasks beyond translations. This broadened my perspective and ignited my passion for exploring the potential within linguistics. I offer a diverse range of services, including translation, content reviewing and optimization, and captivating creative writing tailored to marketing copy or other specialized requirements.
Beyond work, I enjoy journaling, practicing calligraphy, and collecting and using fountain pens and inks. I appreciate the simplicity of physical writing, both for learning and as a means of reflection and artistic expression. Additionally, I stay up-to-date on technology and experiment with productivity tools, including design, programming and AI, to improve my workflow. In an increasingly digital world, with all the available tools, I firmly believe that high-quality communications and interactions between humans still require the personal touches and creative decisions of real individuals and experts, like myself.
